Some local expats enjoy a nomadic lifestyle using Chiang Mai as their home base while they engage in periods of regional or international personal and business travel.

For those who give up apartments as part of this routine, Chiang Mai Buddy offers the Chiang Mai BuddyBox Storage service. Store your things with us and our President and CEO Chiang Mai Buddy G. Dogg will guard them fiercely while you’re away.

Storage Options Offered

• 2 sizes of box (100 BHT and 150 BHT purchased direct from Chiang Mai Buddy)
• Luggage and backpack storage
• Golf club bag storage

Chiang Mai Buddy offers two sizes of box with the larger model sized to accommodate most larger electric fan models. Luggage and backpack storage fees are divided by checked and carry on sizes. All luggage must be locked and all backpacks must be bagged and sealed by Chiang Mai Buddy (bags provided).

We Don’t Do Big Stuff

Our Chiang Mai BuddyBox storage service is strictly for small stuff. We don’t want that cute little coffee table you found on Seconhand Chiang Mai or or that great little fridge you bought from Chiangmai Buy, Sell and Swap. If it doesn’t fit in a box or look like a suitcase, backpack or golf bag, we don’t want it.

How It Works

Step 1: Registration Required

Before visiting our office, read the conditions below and complete the form to provide us with details concerning your storage needs.

Passport information is used as an internal control mechanism to ensure only you collect your goods at the end of the storage term. A scan of your passport photo page is therefore required for physical comparison against your real passport at pickup. The scan can be uploaded by you at registration or scanned by Chiang Mai Buddy at our office when you pick-up your box(es) or drop off your items.

Step 2: Chiang Mai BuddyBox Pickup

Not required for non-boxed items. If you require boxes (must be purchased from Chiang Mai Buddy), after registration, drop by our office to pick up your box(es) and pay for your storage term and sign the agreement.

Step 3: Item Drop Off

Drop off your items at our office during the time indicated during your registration.

Step 4: Item Pickup

Two days notice is required via email prior to pickup. No goods will be released without producing your original passport. Account must be in good standing.

Golf Bag

1000 BHT/month

• Bags must be sealed at Chiang Mai Buddy (tamper proof control)
• 1 month minimum rental period increments
• 2 days notice required prior to pickup

Used Boxes for Sale and Purchase

If your box is in excellent shape, we will buy it back (subject to inspection). Used boxes are offered at a reduced price (subject to availability).

Payment & Refunds

• • • 150 BHT per box for first month
    • 100 BHT per box per additional month
    • Payment required IN ADVANCE for how many months you want your box(es) stored.
    • Refund given for remaining full-month periods not used; no refund for portion of months used (i.e. you rent for 3 months but pickup at one month and 4 days, refund is 1 month storage charges)
    • Minimum 1 month rental period increments
    • No oversized option available (whatever fits in the box)
    • Pickup anytime before the end of your agreed rental period (2 days notice required)

Storage Contract Extension

To extend your storage period contract with Chiang Mai Buddy, payment for subsequent months must be received prior to start of the new rental period via Paypal or third party cash delivery to our office.

Failure to extend the rental contract prior to current contract expiration will change the status of each box in Chiang Mai Buddys possession from “paid” category to “non-paid” category.

Non-Paid Category Goods

After 30 days in “non-paid” category, the renter (owner of goods) agrees to forfeit ownership and claim to any and all goods stored by Chiang Mai Buddy. “Non-paid” category boxes in Chiang Mai Buddys possession after 30 days will be disposed of by whatever means at Chiang Mai Buddys discretion.

Removal of Non-Paid Category Status

If, prior to end the 30-day grace storage period for non-paid category goods, the renter wishes to extend the contract, the renter agrees to pay an additional 100 BHT penalty charge per box to remove the non-paid category status, plus the new monthly storage charges paid in advance.

Terms & Conditions

The provider of this service Chiang Mai Buddy (Thailand) is herein referred to as “Chiang Mai Buddy”. The owner/provider of goods being stored with Chiang Mai Buddy is referred to as the “Renter”.

Due to the extreme humidity of local climate, Chiang Mai Buddy is not liable for damage to Renter’s goods caused by the internal moisture of goods being stored. It is therefore recommended to pre-package goods in plastic bags (1 provided per box by Chiang Mai Buddy) and remove as much air as possible to minimize any potential damage from mold or mildew.

In the extremely unlikely event that any item in Chiang Mai Buddys possession goes missing or is destroyed by any means including fire or acts of God, Chiang Mai Buddys maximum liability is 3000 BHT per stored box, luggage, backpack or golf bag item.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions the Renter warrants that none of the items contained in boxes in Chiang Mai Buddy possession are deemed illegal under Thai law, including but not limited to, weapons, pornography, or controlled psychotropic substances governed under the Psychotropic Substances Act (Thailand).
