About

A residency certificate is a document produced by Thai Immigration to officially certify where a foreigner lives. Valid for 30 days from date of issue, uses for residency certificates include:

  • Greenbook transfer (used motorcycle or vehicle change of ownership)
  • Purchase of new car or motorbike
  • Driving license application (existing licence classes)
  • Driving test (new class i.e. M-class)

  • Passport photocopying

  • Next day pickup service (if received by 4 p.m.)

Optional Delivery Service

For those who wish to make only one trip to our office, Chiang Mai Buddy will deliver your passport and new residency certificate to your location of choice in Chiang Mai (5 KM radius from Chiang Mai Buddy office) for 200 BHT.

Requirements

  • 2 color passport photos (1.5 in x 2.36 in or 4 cm x 6 cm, white or blue background)
  • photocopy of passport photo page, visa and TM6
  • Original passport
  • Proof of residence: rental contract OR letter from landlord
