Nomad Think Tank
Chiang Mai Buddy’s Nomad Think Tank Initiative is an attempt to engage in and cultivate discourse about the broader implications for the movement, with concerns ranging from policy best practices, urban build-out and cross-cultural engagement to a distinct Nomad visa status and Nomad Social Responsibility.
One of the first engagements of the Nomad Think Tank was a Chiang Mai Buddy sponsored gathering regarding Nomad Social Responsibility on May 16, 2016, led by Tom Knoll and Kirsty Thompson. The discussion provided a great basis from which to create a formalized group that will be the first of many global chapters of Nomad Social Responsibility within the Location Independent Movement. The hope, coming out of the event, is to cultivate and nurture a genuine and equitable engagement with local cultures and communities, to grow awareness about the cultural and environmental impact of Nomads, and to provide a venue for critical discourse translating into practical engagement.
